Gabapentin is in a class of medication called anticonvulsants. Gabapentin treats seizure by decreasing abnormal excitement surrounded by the brain. Gabapentin relieves pain by shifting the way the body senses strain. I would think it poses a moderate risk of addiction since it does alter the agency the body senses pain.
